Dorbolo La Gubana Cake

The Gubana is a storied Italian cake made of sweet leavened dough and filled with layers of dried fruit and nuts. Dating back to the 1400s, the cake was created from the mixing of Slavic, Nordic and local Italian ethnic groups. It earned its same because it was kept in the "Gubana", a wooden cupboard, to keep it away from children's straying fingers.
